A Book About Freedom

You're not like the rest, friend, but a new voice in my life; you say something different than I ever have heard. It's not that you talk much, it's in the way that you speak. Like an opened book in the process of becoming written you are. All the drama is there and your character defined; the plot is being discovered amidst the theme of your life. And how you express the conflicts within you is how I've been drawn to hear what you're saying.

Oh, but you are not simply a book that others have made; you are each vibrant word like notes flowing together. There's been no ideas recycled for the sake of convenience; all the words are your own to sing with beauty and joy. Yet you are no rebel who only wants to cause trouble; you are not proud when your words make no sense. What you want to compose is a book about freedom; your every word is directed to show your respect for the listener.

And I am a listener, my friend, of your message; have I proclaimed it in the spirit of all that you are? It may seem to you, perhaps, a little too flattering, but you're not hearing the whole piece like one who is listening. So let me encourage you with my story of a life that's been changed; I find my whole being has evolved to be able to hear you. For I have never before revealed such intimate feelings as I have since you trusted me with your own.

Thank you.
